During my drive last year to ZCon in Syracuse NY. Tony(BigTDogg) and my self drove up, and yes we did stick out on the highway a bit. Two Platinum Mist metallic Z's on a tuesday around noon in the middle of the sticks, how often do you see that?
About 20 miles from the ZCon exit area right around an underpass I got a totally different signal that I never heard coming from my V1, it was just a split second high level sound, Tony didn't get it on his detector (don't know the brand) called him on the 2way radio we were carrying to confirm, Tony replied that it was probably nothing since his detector didn't get a signal, I slowed down and just as I look over to the right there was a State trooper pulling out of the rest area, he get behind Tony and obviuosly I pull over behind the cruiser. Cop comes out, walks over to my car and asked what I was doing, so I say in my most inocent way:
"I'm traveling with my friend sir, what seems to be the problem?
Cop looks at both Z's and replies:
I see.. well, we clocked you at 63mph and your friend at 75mph (I think he said) and the speed limit in this area is 55mph (I think he said), so he's getting a ticket, OK.. so sit tight.So I guess that quick braking dropped my speed just enough to slide right by, so my suggestion to you is, if your V1 can be upgraded and as I remember it only cost $50.00 do it, it's worth it.
